The Department for Communities and Local Government’s permanent secretary has admitted forcing councils to sell high-value properties is a ‘transfer’ from town halls to Whitehall.

The Department for Communities and Local Government's permanent secretary has admitted forcing councils to sell high-value properties is a ‘transfer' from town halls to Whitehall.

The Public Accounts Committee quizzed Melanie Dawes on the extension of right to buy to housing associations yesterday.
