Adult social care directors have been told austerity should not restrict their commitment to innovation and quality.

Speaking at the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) spring seminar today, chief executive of the Care Quality Commission (CQC), David Behan said the regulator did not want to get in the way of innovation.
