District demands withdrawal of unitary plan

Nuneaton & Bedworth BC has confronted Warwickshire CC over proposals to create a new authority covering the whole county.

A district council has demanded the withdrawal of proposals to create a new unitary council covering the whole of Warwickshire.

The county council has prepared a ‘case for change' that recommended a single unitary was the 'only option' that would meet government aspirations for devolution and reform.
