Submissions about the Budget reached the Treasury earlier this week. The District Councils' Network (DCN) provided a compelling case for government to continue to support districts. We help deliver and accelerate outcomes central to the Government's missions: jobs and growth, more housing, better health and a more sustainable environment. Preventative services such as leisure centres, parks and community facilities help keep people healthy and living independent lives, reducing costs for the NHS and social care.

The DCN's central ask is for long-term funding certainty which sees reasonable growth in spending power each year that is not dependent solely on council tax
