This week sees elections for police and crime commissioners, and contests are being held for seats on many councils, including dozens of districts.

Returning officers and elections teams have been working to ensure everything goes smoothly. That will continue over the next couple of days as counting is completed – they are readying themselves for a General Election later in 2024.
