Experts have cast doubt on whether consolidation of local government pension schemes (LGPS) will deliver economic growth and investment in the UK.

Chancellor Rachel Reeves hopes to ‘power growth in our economy' through the creation of pension ‘megafunds', unlocking £80bn of investment in ‘vital infrastructure projects'.
