'Encourage CAs to set funding formulae'

Combined authorities should be encouraged by the Government to set their own devolved local funding formulae, a think-tank has suggested.

Combined authorities should be encouraged by the Government to set their own devolved local funding formulae, a think-tank has suggested.

The New Local Government Network (NLGN) said the move would give combined authorities the ‘flexibility to support localities which start from a different [business rates] baseline'.
