Enterprise zone numbers set to increase

The Government is to announce the increase in the number of enterprise zones from 24 to around 40 in the Autumn Statement later this month in a bid to encourage businesses to open in key areas and stimulate local economies.

The Government is to announce the increase in the number of enterprise zones from 24 to around 40 in the Autumn Statement later this month in a bid to encourage businesses to open in key areas and stimulate local economies.

In September, local enterprise partnerships (LEP) joined forces with councils to bid to form the zones, which were first introduced in 2012.
