More than half of English councils are not taking on environmental health trainees and apprentices due to funding and capacity issues, a survey has found.

More than half of English councils are not taking on environmental health trainees and apprentices due to funding and capacity issues, a survey has found.

The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) said its workforce survey had shown the profession risked being ‘hollowed out'.
