Financial sustainability is vital for councils

Chairman of the LGA Cllr James Jamieson says he met with the new secretary of state Greg Clark, welcomed him back to his former role and outlined 'the challenges and opportunities we face at this pivotal time'.

The Local Government Association's first in-person annual conference for three years was fantastic.

Among the highlights of our three days in Harrogate were hearing from great speakers and the sharing of council innovation and good practice through the popular Innovation Zone and LGA Hub.
