We are forced to 'eke out too little to too many people' says social care chief

Too many social workers, managers and councillors 'are having to make invidious decisions to eke out too little to too many people whose needs are increasing' says social care chief Julie Ogley.

Ms Ogley president of the Association of  Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) said  'Brexit, a change of Prime Minister and now a General Election on the horizon' meant plans for adult social care reform 'are very much still stuck in the long-grass'.

Speaking at the National Children and Adult Services conference in Bournemouth today, she said this was  'a burning injustice that this has not been addressed by successive governments'.
