Former Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy president Andrew Burns has joined the institute as associate director for local government. 

Mr Burns stepped down from his post as director of finances and resources at Staffordshire CC earlier this year, following a 35-year career in local government across the West Midlands.
