Former DCLG director named as top health civil servant

A former Department for Communities and Local Government director has been named as the new Department of Health permanent secretary.

A former Department for Communities and Local Government director has been named as the new Department of Health permanent secretary.

Chris Wormald, currently the top civil servant at the Department for Education (DfE), will take over from Dame Una O'Brien when she steps down from her role at the end of April.
