Last week saw The MJ and around 100 or so chief executives and senior directors gather for our annual Future Forum – a chance to jump off the treadmill of running a local authority and think ahead.

The forum focuses on finance, and each year the Institute for Fiscal Studies director, Paul Johnson, gives us a run-down of the Budget – and to put it bluntly, tells us where the chancellor is going wrong.
