Salford has come a long way since the industrial decline of the ‘70s, which culminated in the closure of Manchester Docks. But after the city council purchased parts of the land in 1983, rebranding it Salford Quays, it became one of the country's largest urban regeneration projects, sparking a series of developments in the city that continues to this day.

Jim Taylor, the council's chief executive, said developers have been flocking to the city, and despite Brexit, the market remains strong.
