Funding decision signals 'waning influence' of LEPs

The Government's decision to slash funding for growth hubs and local enterprise partnerships (LEPs) confirms combined authorities will increasingly lead economic development, a former LEP chair has suggested.

Total funding for growth hubs has been slashed in half this financial year to £11m while core funding for individual LEPs has been slashed by a quarter – from £500,000 to £375,000.
