Future Forum 2017: Technology to help improve outcomes and deliver savings

Tim Gregson, Microsoft’s chief technology officer for UK local and regional government, told The MJ Forum how the technology giant is collaborating with Kent CC to keep people out of the system and reduce the burden on the local authority, as Sam Clayden explains

In recent years, local government's eyes have widened to the boundless possibilities that new technologies can offer. Opportunities to harness new innovations to improve outcomes and deliver savings are now at councils' fingertips.

The cloud has been paraded as a means to tackle cyber crime, mobilise organisations and give workforces access to the information and the decision-making systems and tools wherever and whenever they are needed.
