The focus of the devolution agenda has shifted away from public service transformation under the new prime minister, according to Whitehall's devolution chief. 

Director general for decentralisation and growth at the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG), Simon Ridley, said that while devolution remained a priority for Theresa May it would be ‘evermore in the context of the economic agenda'.
