The sector has been urged to make the case for better funding itself instead of relying on the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).

The outgoing president of the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives (SOLACE), Jo Miller, was scathing of the ability of MHCLG to secure more money for councils from the Treasury.
