Levelling up secretary Michael Gove has said he is not in favour of putting devolution proposals to public votes.

Levelling up secretary Michael Gove has said he is not in favour of putting devolution proposals to public votes.

He told MPs on the Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee it was ‘better to rely on discussion' with local leaders when forming mayoral combined authorities.
