Government increases funding for child asylum seekers

The boost to rates to support care leavers has long been lobbied for by local government.

The Home Office has announced an increase in funding for councils supporting unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC).

The Government will provide £240 per person per week for UASC care leavers, up from £150 to £200.
