Government cannot predict if cuts will discriminate

The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) has admitted it cannot predict whether proposed funding reductions will discriminate against protected groups.

The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) has admitted it cannot predict whether proposed funding reductions will discriminate against protected groups.

A DCLG document published today, which analyses the potential equality impacts of the financial settlement, suggested there could be cases in which service reductions ‘have a greater impact on persons who share a protected characteristic'.
