More than half of Scottish properties in are effectively in the ‘wrong’ council tax band, research by the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) has found.

More than half of Scottish properties are effectively in the ‘wrong' council tax band, research by the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) has found.

Its latest report concluded that the current bands are ‘unfair' due to changes in property values since 1991.
