The Financial Reporting Council's first director of local audit wants to take a closer look at the Government's emerging plans for a new watchdog.

Ministers are creating the Office for Local Government (Oflog) - a data-driven body with the aim of providing a ‘meaningful and authoritative source of information about the performance of local authorities'.
