Policing in Britain is changing. The appointment of Police and Crime Commissioners in November 2012 heralds a new era. When it comes to service strategy and delivery, communities will have new representation and forces will operate in a new political climate.

At Northamptonshire Police, we see an exciting opportunity to drive change and infl uence the wider agenda. That's why we've created this unique role. Joining us, you will be instrumental to our success in the new world of twenty-first century policing. A pivotal member of the Corporate Services senior management team, you'll lead a dedicated team. Accountable for strategic assessment and enhancement, you'll help lead major changes. Your remit will span everything from estate, finance and assets through to workforce planning, strategy and service delivery.

You'll explore, understand and interpret our performance – and the future landscape of policing itself. You'll manage key strategic relationships, including those with the Police and Crime Commissioner and Her Majesty's Inspector of Constabulary. You'll recommend actions to senior officers and lead consultations with key stakeholders including providers and service users.

From commissioning processes to information services, you'll facilitate the business we do and transform the way we do it. Championing innovation, you'll drive benefits to diverse communities.

Your extensive track record of relevant experience includes programme commissioning, building business cases, planning resources and translating business strategies into policy and procedure. You're a strategic leader with a flair for driving organisational and culture change, managing diverse services and building a highly motivated, high performing team. Demonstrating a thorough understanding of the political and strategic context of policing, you combine a creative strategic vision with the exceptional influencing and relationship building skills necessary to make it happen.
