A healthy approach to spending

Dr Claire Mansfield takes issue with the BMJ's warnings over local government's role in public health - differently does not mean badly.

One year on from the transfer of public health from the NHS to local government things are beginning to be done differently, not a fact that has gone unnoticed by the British Medical Journal (BMJ).

Differently, however, does not mean badly. Changes were to be expected from the transfer, otherwise there would have been little point in making the move.
