Help – when and where it's needed

Norfolk CC has successfully shifted the emphasis in children's services from crisis to prevention, including remodelling its corporate parenting service for children in care and beyond. It's just the start, as Sara Tough explains.

When the global pandemic hit last year, we were nearly half-way through a £15m transformation programme aimed at supporting more children to live safely at home with their families and reduce demand on our specialist services.

The aim was primarily to ensure children and their families were getting the right help, as soon as possible, reducing both the financial and personal cost of late intervention.
