I am currently reading The Forgotten Highlander by Alistair Urquhart. In it, he says: ‘Life is worth living, and no matter what it throws at you, it is important to keep your eyes on the prize of the happiness that will come.'
Clearly, the wartime atrocities that Mr Urquhart encountered will hopefully never be encountered again, but the words resounded in my ears as I made the link to the work we are doing in Barking and Dagenham, ‘helping people through tough times'.
