Home secretary Theresa May has said there is a ‘debate to be had’ on bringing in powers to recall Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs).

Home secretary Theresa May has said there is a ‘debate to be had' on bringing in powers to recall Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs).

In a response to the Home Affairs Select Committee report into Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE), Ms May answered calls for legislation to make PCCs subject to recall, claiming: ‘They are held accountable by the most effective check on any politician: the ballot box.'
