Poorly-insulated homes and inadequate public transport mean the inflation crisis is hitting cities in the North, Midlands and Wales harder than London and the South-East, a report has warned.

Published by the Centre for Cities think-tank, the research found the inflationary impact was up to 30% higher in cities such as Burnley and Blackpool than southern counterparts such as Cambridge.
