Keeping the ship afloat

Budget council now means keeping the organisation stable through the choppiest of waters in a ship that will develop holes in places you weren’t looking, writes Tracie Evans.

Ship ahoy! The hustle-bustle excitement of budget council is over and it never ceases to bring out the local government officer and accountant in me.

Ever since I was a budget assistant on C1 (remember that grade?) at Camden LBC, the annual budget council is the one event that we look forward to because, as accountants, we can breathe a sigh of relief.
