Knowsley leisure firm in £2m bailout

The authority originally formed Volair to reduce its lesiure service’s dependency on council funding.

A firm designed to reduce council spending on leisure services has received a £2m bailout from Knowsley MBC.

The council originally formed Volair to take over the management of its leisure service in 2015 on a 15-year contract, with the ‘overriding objective' of reducing the service's ‘dependency' on council funding.
