Local Government Ombudsman, Dr Jane Martin, explains how public redress for local services will work in the commissioning era.

There's more to the Local Government Ombudsman than meets the eye.  Yes, we deal with complaints about local authorities. 

But we also support local complaint handling and influence improvement in the delivery of local services.  The challenge for LGO is to develop greater public understanding of the role we can and should play.
