Council leaders have urged the Government to allow local authorities to set their own planning fees.

Council leaders have urged the Government to allow local authorities to set their own planning fees.

The call comes after research by the Local Government Association (LGA) found communities have been forced to spend £450m covering the cost of planning applications in the past three years.
