The impact of a successful ransomware attack amid the coronavirus crisis could be catastrophic, Local Government Association (LGA) chief executive, Mark Lloyd has warned.

The impact of a successful ransomware attack amid the coronavirus crisis could be catastrophic, Local Government Association (LGA) chief executive, Mark Lloyd has warned.

In a message to LGA member councils, Mr Lloyd wrote: ‘Some criminals will see the current situation as an opportunity to extort ransoms.'
