Fixing social care, tackling climate change, addressing deep-seated inequalities and rebuilding the economy are the ‘enormous challenges' ahead, says acting Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey.

In a speech today to the Local Government Association's conference, he called for councils to get £45bn in ‘green recovery investment' cash along with a host of new powers to help spark economic growth after the coronavirus pandemic and cut emissions.
