The Liverpool city region has received its first £30m instalment as part of the £900m devolution deal it signed a year ago.

The Liverpool city region has received its first £30m instalment as part of the £900m devolution deal it signed a year ago.

Residents will be given the chance to vote for a directly elected mayor in May in return for greater powers over transport, business growth, housing and regeneration.
