Controversial Lender Option Borrower Option (LOBO) loans do not pose future risks to councils, according to the chair of the communities and local government (CLG) committee. 

Some councils took out the loans at a time when interest rates were particularly high, but after rates came crashing down, campaigners warned authorities would be locked into the complex, high cost loans for up to 40 years.
