Local learnings from outer space

The leadership skills practiced by British astronaut Tim Peake have strong parallels with those needed by public sector leaders in a time of permacrisis, says Darra Singh.

What do a mission to the International Space Station and the public sector have in common? More than I thought, it turns out.

As part of my new role with Newton Europe, on 8 December I had the opportunity to interview Major Tim Peake, the first British astronaut to travel into space in more than 20 years, and to host a session with an in-person and virtual audience of 350 public sector leaders.
