A policy adviser for The Infrastructure Forum (TIF) believes the appointment of Lord Adonis as chair of George Osborne's new national infrastructure commission will help connect the country and improve the economy.

The chancellor has named the former Labour cabinet minister as the person to drive infrastructure projects in the country in a move that will make it easier for the Government to build nuclear power stations, airports and railway lines.
