Making good music together

It’s had a chequered history, but the world-famous Glastonbury music festival is now a model of collaboration between its organisers, the local district council and other agencies, writes Dan Peters.

'It's just like being on safari,' quips one councillor only half-jokingly as their minibus trundles through one of Glastonbury's camping areas.

A ripple of laughter echoes around the bus in recognition of the comparison as beyond the vehicle bleary-eyed festival-goers emerge hesitantly from their tents.
