Regions that failed to sign devolution deals before the EU referendum may regret wavering over elected mayors, an expert has suggested.

New Local Government Network director Simon Parker told The MJ he would expect regions that had not yet struck agreements to be ‘a bit worried about whether [they] can get back in the game' and claimed some authorities ‘might regret prevaricating about mayors'.
