Concerns over voter ID trials have been dismissed as ‘scaremongering’ and ‘conspiracy theorising’ by a minister.

Concerns over voter ID trials have been dismissed as ‘scaremongering' and ‘conspiracy theorising' by a minister.

The issue was debated by MPs ahead of next month's local elections, when 10 councils will run trials requiring voters to provide ID before they vote.
