Removing the ringfence around public health grants could put local authority areas with higher deprivation and poor health at an even greater disadvantage, MPs warned today.

A report by the House of Commons' Health Committee on public health claimed changes to how local government is financed, including the end of the ringfence in 2018/19, must be properly managed to ensure such areas are not hit with more problems.
