Children's services directors are in ‘urgent' talks with government officials over additional funding as councils prepare to welcome youngsters from Calais refugee camps this week.

The Government has accelerated its programme to resettle unaccompanied refugee children in the UK as French authorities began to dismantle the so-called Calais Jungle.
