Ofsted's growing improvement role will undermine sector-led improvement in children's services, the Local Government Association (LGA) has warned.

The LGA has expressed concerns that Ofsted's moves into this area will remove ownership from the sector and ‘create a clear conflict' with the inspectorate's role in monitoring the effectiveness of improvement work.
