Park life

Many councils across the country are cutting their budgets for parks and open spaces, with some even looking to sell off these areas of land. Garry Payne explains how Wyre BC has continued to invest in its parks, making significant improvements for local residents and visitors alike.

An investigation by the BBC found more than half of councils in the North West of England are considering selling parks, or finding other organisations to maintain them within the next three years.

We are a borough council with some beautiful parks and green spaces on our doorstep and we know how important these areas are to our local community.
