A minister has not ruled out future Government intervention in Oadby & Wigston BC after an MP launched a blistering attack on the ‘poisonous' authority.

As Parliament resumed yesterday, Harborough's Conservative MP Sir Edward Garnier called for ‘decisive action' from Whitehall and the ‘urgent' appointment of commissioners to turn around the ‘dysfunctional' borough.
