Residents are increasingly prepared to pay higher taxes providing revenues are invested in public services, a major new report has found.

A poll by Ipsos MORI included in Deloitte's State of the State paper revealed that 60% of people supported increased spending on public services, even if that meant tax rises, compared with just 46% in 2009 in the aftermath of the financial crash.
