Local government must act quickly on devolution because George Osborne will not be around forever, a respected academic has warned.

Local government must act quickly on devolution because George Osborne will not be around forever, a respected academic has warned.  

Speaking at the New Local Government Network (NLGN) annual conference yesterday, Tony Travers said the chancellor had a very personal interest in devolution and asked whether Theresa May or Boris Johnson would have the same motivation.
